Productive Meeting for Child Protection and Welfare

admin, February 16, 2024April 30, 2024

The Reina Federation participated in the 1st Quarterly Meeting of the Provincial Council for the Protection of Children (PCPC) held today, February 16, at the Kalilayan Hall in Lucena City.

The discussion was spearheaded by Denise Ann F. Reselloza and Ashton Salra B. Garcia of DILG Quezon. The focus was the Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA) and functionality audit for the Local Councils for the Protection of Children (LCPCs). The goal is to help municipalities and cities raise their assessment levels to become Child-Friendly LGUs, which is required for the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG).

Recommendations were also made to add representative members from PDAO, LYDO, PTA councils, indigenous people’s organizations, and other groups to the PCPC membership. This will facilitate more coordinated efforts to prioritize programs benefiting children across Quezon province.

The PCPC remains committed to making health services accessible to children and protecting them from all forms of harm. With diligence and compassion, we can deliver the bright futures our young Quezonian children deserve.
