ChildFund International Visits Reina Federation’s Greenlight Project

admin, February 15, 2024April 30, 2024

On February 13, 2024, we were honored to host a visit from ChildFund International to observe our climate resilience initiatives in Infanta, Quezon through the Greenlight Project.

The delegation was led by Ms. Keeve Duffey, ChildFund’s Climate Advisor, together with Mr. Dong Wana, Program and Sponsorship Director, Mr. Erwin Galido, DRM Specialist, and Ms. Lorenza Franciso, PPO.

During their alliance visit, the team joined in several insightful activities including:

  • A site visit to the National Greening Program (NGP) area where we implement sustainable agriculture and reforestation efforts.
  • A focus group discussion with youth eco-scout leaders who shared firsthand how climate change has affected their community and how our programs are equipping them with preparedness and adaptation skills.
  • Meetings with local officials to discuss needs, challenges, and goals for building community resilience against intensifying disasters.

Ms. Duffey made thoughtful inquiries into how our climate-smart interventions through the Greenlight Project are positively impacting children, youth, and the broader community. She gained valuable insights into how we are empowering the youth to cope with the realities of climate change.

We are grateful to ChildFund for their continued support and guidance as we work together to strengthen vulnerable communities against mounting climate threats. The knowledge exchange during this visit will help enrich our collaboration for enhanced resilience and sustainable futures.
